Recently, the USA and the Canada communities of DMMM have been constituted as a single region of the DMMM Congregation. Also, in Lake Charles Diocese, the late Msgr. Irving DeBlanc left some money for the DMMM sisters to build an Adult Day Care Center to be owned and managed by the DMMM sisters. The Center would take care of the elderly population of the area. The adult day care center is under construction and will be operational soon. The name given to this day care center by the late Msgr. DeBlanc is “Just OlderYouth” – JOY. At JOY, elders will be provided with a complete lunch and two snacks a day. There will be many leisure activities such as bingo, songs, therapy, physical exercises, etc.

DMMM sisters, Lake Charles joyfully welcome the new Bishop John Glenn Provost, and,
The Very Rev Father Aubrey Gilbeau (Secretary for Clergy and religious) |
The DMMM sisters are planning that the JOY facility will house a “spiritual power house” – this will be a 24 hours perpetual Adoration by the sisters and volunteers. A snack and bake shop would also be in place to serve the JOY inmates and also generate funds to promote our missions in the northern America, Nigeria and other continents. This spiritual power house will be called “AGAPE” (LOVE) Center. The proposed main functions of the AGAPE project would be:
- To pray for the Holy Father
- To pray for all Bishops of the world, especially USA catholic Bishops and other church leaders in America
- To pray for the clergy, religious and consecrated lives and laity
- To pray for end of robbery, murder, kidnapping in Nigeria and all over Africa
- To Pray for World Peace
- To pray for end of war
- To pray for the safety of unborn
- To pray for Divine Mercy on the sinful world
- To pray for our benefactors
- To pray for the propagation of the Holy rosary/Block Rosary
- To pray for the terminally sick
- To pray for the President and congress of the USA
- To pray for the end of natural disaster
- To pray for spiritually and materially poor
- To pray for soldiers at war
- Etc.
The DMMM sisters in Lake Charles are also considering the following projects:
- Group home to house the elderly and feeble population of the area who are incapable of being on their own
- Thrift store to allow donation of goods and the use of donated materials for helping the poor freely and/or at reduced price, the proceeds of which will be used to support the DMMM apostolate in the USA and overseas.
